Lynn Joseph Chauvin, Jr., of Goldthwaite, Texas, formerly of Anahuac, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026, in Temple, Texas, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Lynn served as Deputy with Chambers County Sherriff's Office for many years, retiring in 2010. He was a United States Air Force Veteran who honorably served his country, including a tour during the Vietnam War in 1967.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Joseph Chauvin, Sr. and Meryl Mae Babin Chauvin; and grandson, Scott Andrew Evans.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Brenda Chauvin; his children, Tammie Evans and husband Andy of Gary, Texas; Tracie Lynn Chauvin of Anahuac, Texas, and David Chauvin and wife Betsie of East Bernard, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Davis, Jaxon Evans and fiancé Kaytlin Harris, Ashlyn Kahla and husband Rhett, Holden Smith, and Emma Chauvin; great-grandchildren, Bristol Hyatt, Blakelynn Kahla and Jagger Netterville; siblings, George Chauvin and wife Mary, Doug Chauvin and wife Lori, and brother-in-law, Lindy Guillory. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. 

No public funeral service will be held; the family will hold a private celebration of his life. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott Evans Memorial Fund, Vera Bank, P. O. Box 1088, Tatum, Texas 75691. The Scott Evans Memorial Fund is an educational scholarship fund established to honor Lynn's late grandson.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
