Lynette Zurline, age 80, of Marshall, Texas, formerly of Carthage, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026, in Tyler, Texas.
Lynette Pearl Williams was born on June 24, 1946, in Groom, Texas, to the late Horace Allen and Mary Louise Koetting Williams. She graduated from White Deer High School with the Class of 1964 before continuing her education at West Texas State University. She later earned an Associate's Degree from Kilgore College.
In 1970, Lynette moved to Carthage from Skellytown, Texas, where she made her home for many years. On February 14, 1998, she married the love of her life, Steven Joseph Zurline, Sr., in Houston, Texas.
Lynette devoted more than 33 years to Carthage Independent School District, serving as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2017. She was a longtime member of Tau Omega Sorority and treasured the friendships she made through the organization.
A woman of deep faith, Lynette was a longtime member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Carthage and, after moving to Marshall, became a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She found great joy in celebrating Christmas, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Allen Williams and Donald Lynn Williams.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Steve Zurline; her children, Dean Russell and wife, Angela, Rodney Russell and wife, Jo Ellen, Joe Zurline, and Amy De Marco and husband, John; her grandchildren, Dustin Russell and wife, Kendall, Dayton Russell and wife, Bri, Kaly Benavides and husband, Matthew, Braden Russell and fiancée, Rylee Hudspeth, Jordan Russell and wife, Kiyah, Francesca De Marco, Johnny De Marco, and Joseph De Marco; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Benavides, Alondra Benavides, Jaxson Russell, Steely Russell, Amelia Benavides, and Raelyn Jene Russell, who is expected in January 2027; her step-grandchildren, Sydney Gates, Caleb Gates, Kelsey Negrete and husband, Mario, Bailey Smith, and Lacey Smith; and her step-great-grandchildren, Rio, Lorenzo, and Santiago Negrete.
