Lucy Davis, 85, of Nacogdoches, TX formerly of Carthage, TX, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, in Nacogdoches. Lucy Sheriff was born on May 16, 1935, in Singapore to the late Sheriff and Yen Soy Fun. She married James Martin Davis on Nov. 24, 1972, in Darwin, Australia and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2006. Mrs. Davis was the owner and cook at the Spicy Wok in Carthage for many years until her retirement. She moved to Carthage in 1983, from Singapore and was a member of St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant daughter, Michele Elizabeth Davis who passed away on May 3, 1975.

She is survived by her children, Hansel Kryst of Paris, France, Grettle DeSouza and husband Jules of Singapore, Oval Kryst of Singapore, Aggie Burch and husband Bob of Singapore, Peggy Stillwell Thompson of Nacogdoches, Vincent Kryst of Singapore, Francis Kryst and wife Sherri of Katy, TX, and Ann Davis and husband J.R. Johnson, Jr. of Nacogdoches; step-children, James Dudley Davis and wife Donna of Old Center, Bill Dan Davis and wife Janet of Carthage, and Bobby Don Davis of Carthage; grandchildren, J.R. DeSouza, Lucille DeSouza and spouse Arie, Matthew Kryst, Rebecca Louis Burch and husband Mike Lin, Anthony Burch, Mattie Lucille Stillwell, James Milton Stillwell and wife Cassidy, Caleb Skylar Thompson, Jonathon Kryst, Cortney  Suzanne Tindall and husband Justin, Ragan Mitchell Kryst, Deleana Parker, Karman Jones, Ian Seals, Madison and Jordan Johnson; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Old Center Cemetery, with Father Steve Paradis officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
