Lucy Cash, age 82, of the Fair Play Community in Panola County, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at her home in Fair Play. Lucy Ann Shelton was born on December 18, 1942, in Erin, Tennessee to the late John Ike and Edna Christine Holley Shelton. She graduated from W.T. Thomas High School in Cumberland City, Tennessee with the class of 1960. Lucy married Braxton LeRoy Cash on January 18, 1962, in Erin and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2009, after 47 years together. She was very talented in the home interior industry where she hung wall paper for many people in the area. Mrs. Cash moved to Panola County in 1990, from Marshall and was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Shelton.

She is survived by her children, Rex Cash, Michelle Buchanan and husband Chuck, and Lenval Cash and wife Joanne; grandchildren, Sharlyt Asher (Everett), Brigitte Buchanan (Jason), Charles "Chuckie" Buchanan (Katie), Christopher Cash (Allison), Montana Cash, Samuel Cash (Saray), Beth Alvis (Gordon), and Jennifer Holly; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Aubrey Shelton and wife Maxine, Juanita Welker and husband Bobby, Eddie Shelton, and Ray Shelton and wife Gloria; and sister-in-law, Judy Shelton.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Waldrop Cemetery with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

Pallbearers are Rex Cash, Lenval Cash, Chuckie Buchanan, Steve Marling, Christopher Cash, and Samuel Cash.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles Buchanan and Bryce Buchanan.
