Obituary

A celebration of life service for Lola R. Pippin Lovett, 95, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Everett and Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lovett passed away on Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, in Longview.

Lola Ruby Pippin Lovett was born on Feb. 18, 1920, in Henryetta, OK to the late Richard Murray and Margaret Axah Sams Pippin. She graduated from #42 High School in Bryant, OK with the class of 1936. Mrs. Lovett married Cecil R. Lovett on June 17, 1937, in Henryetta and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1989. She was a member of the first class of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Kilgore College, graduating in 1971. She worked for Dr. Carl Gerardy as an LVN and at Panola General Hospital as an RN for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Carthage VFD Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling abroad and extensively throughout all 50 states and Canada. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was a former member of the Silver Strummers, Silver Tones, and had taught GA's and YWA's. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Ann McCartney; son-in-law, Johnny McCartney; great-grandson, Ryan David Cantrell; and granddaughter-in-law, Mindy Lanoux.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dorothea Nisbett and husband Jim of San Antonio, Frances Moore and husband Sammy of Carthage, and Margaret Sanchez and husband Diego of San Antonio; grandchildren, Cathy Upshaw and husband Chuck of Ft. Worth, Jodi Bratcher and husband Randy of Odessa, David McCartney and wife Mindy of Blanchard, Lance Lanoux of San Antonio, Michael Moore and wife Angie of Colorado Springs, Kristi Williamson and husband Jon of Carthage, Michelle Wacasey and husband John of San Antonio, Kristine Miller and husband Chad of San Antonio, and John Nisbett and wife Laura of Carrollton; 23 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive Mrs. Lovett.

Pallbearers are David McCartney, Michael Moore, Lance Lanoux, Jon Williamson, Chuck Upshaw, Randy Bratcher, Egan McCartney, Riley Lanoux, Jonathon Williamson, Matthew Williamson, and Kaleb Moore.
