Graveside services for Mrs. Lois Jean Seay, age 77 of Tenaha, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Restland Cemetery near Tenaha with Brother Jim Moss officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Seay passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Longview.

Lois Jean Pruett Seay was born on December 26, 1929 in Rutherford County, North Carolina to George and Ina McCurry Pruett. Mrs. Seay graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended college in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Berkley, California. She married Paul Seay on December 20, 1957 in San Francisco. Mrs. Seay wrote feature articles as a journalist with Quarter Horse World Magazine for many years. She taught Sunday school at Woods New Hope Baptist Church and at First Baptist Church of Tenaha, where she was a member. Mrs. Seay had lived in Tenaha for over 22 years, moving from Spartanburg.

Mrs. Seay is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul Seay of Tenaha; two sons, Dr. Michael Seay and wife Belinda of Vernon and David Seay and wife Doris of Tenaha; two grandchildren, Dusty Seay of Longview and George Seay of Vernon; and three step-grandchildren, Miranda Hammons of Longview, Erin Hammons of Barksdale A.F.B., and Holly Hammons of Tulsa.
