Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Loberis Wilcots, age 80, of the Rehobeth Community of Panola County, TX, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.W. Thorn officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Wilcots passed away on Monday morning, April 19, 2010, at his home in the Rehobeth Community.

Loberis Wilcots was born on May 17, 1929, in Carthage, TX to Saul Wilcots, Jr. and Gladys Pipkins Wilcots. He attended Harry Ells High School in Richmond, CA. Mr. Wilcots served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He moved back to Panola County in 1988, from Richmond, CA. He married Lizzie Mae Johnson on Dec. 10, 1994, in Carthage. Mr. Wilcots was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, L.K, Theodis, and Herman Wilcots.

Mr. Wilcots is survived by his wife, Lizzie Wilcots of the Rehobeth Community; six sons, Michael Wilcots of Beckville, Freddy Wilcots and wife Nedya of Richmond, CA, Kenny Wilcots and wife Sabrina of Richmond, CA, Thomas Johnson and wife Roxy of Beckville, Earl Nelson and wife Della of Lubbock, and Bruce Nelson of New Boston; four daughters, Michell Atemba and husband James of Anchorage, AK, Edwana Denise Melvo and husband Reo of Richmond, CA, Linda Berry of Carthage, and Roshell Nelson of Beckville; one brother, Charles Wilcots of Richmond, CA; two sisters, Ernestine Ponder of Carthage and Erma Smith and husband Carl of Madera, CA; 25 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Wilcots.

Serving as pallbearers are Damien Manier, Desmun Pellum, Marvin Wilcots, Robert Wilcots, James Wilcots, and Fredrick Wilcots.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Michael Wilcots, Kenneth Wilcots, U.C. Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Earl Nelson, Bruce Nelson, and Albert Ponder.
