Lizzie Johnson Wilcots, 88, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, 2019, in Carthage.  Lizzie Mae Johnson was born on March 10, 1931, in Carthage to the late Jacob and Kizzie Alberta Brown Johnson. Lizzie attended Beckville schools. She worked for many years in electronics and as a caregiver before her retirement. Lizzie was a longtime member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Fairplay. She married Loberis Wilcots on Dec. 10, 1994, in Carthage and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2010. Mrs. Wilcots was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Thomas Johnson, III; daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson; and siblings, James, Eugene, Calvin, Billy, and U C Johnson, Mattie Collins, Myra Bell Jones, Mildred Wallace, Alberta Hardy, Jeanette Malone, Janice Pope, Cozette Wallace and Georgette Walls.

Survivors include her daughters, Roshell Nelson and Linda Berry; sons, Thomas Johnson, I, Hasten Nelson (Della), Bruce Nelson, and Michael Wilcots (Patsy); God-daughter, Lisa Ross; brother, Jacob Johnson; special nieces, Sandra Jones, Levell Walls, and Vera Jones; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
