Linda Reed, 77, of the Chalk Hill Community in Rusk County, TX, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022, at her home in Chalk Hill. Linda Sue Bennett was born on May 9, 1945, in Baytown, TX to Samuel Alfred and Wilma Dean Warren Bennett. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown with the class of 1963. Linda married Roger Neil Reed on Dec. 23, 1963, in Dayton, TX. She enjoyed growing flowers, reading, cooking, traveling, her dogs, and being with her family. Linda moved to the area in 1970, from Baytown and she was a faithful and devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. She was preceded in death by her father; sister-in-law, Donna Sue Liles; and brother-in-law, Phil Harris.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Bennett; husband, Roger Reed; children, Lisa Davidson and husband Edwin and Vernon Reed and wife Michelle; grandchildren, James Davidson and wife Holly, John Davidson, and Caleb Reed; sister-in-law, Janie Harris; brother-in-law, Eddie Liles; and her dog, Bella.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport with Pastor Ross Law officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chalk Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the church prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are James Davidson, John Davidson, Glen Young, Chandler Young, Chad Liles, and Kerry Liles.
