Linda L. Morton, 82, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday night, Jan. 11, 2020, in Carthage. Linda Lou Taylor was born on May 18, 1937, in Pittsburg, TX to the late John and Vade Burkham Taylor. She married Jack Morton on Sept. 11, 1981, and he preceded her in death on Apr. 2, 2006. Mrs. Morton was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Betty J. Poehls Atchley-Richardson and Mavon Springs; and brothers, Sonny and Jerry Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Larry Don Powell and wife Nan of Carthage, Carolyn Sue Harrigan and husband Tim of Ft. Worth, and Debra Jean Hunter of Carthage; grandchildren, Chris Powell and wife Sandra, Missy Atkerson and husband Mark, Nicole Koenigsfeld and husband Josh, Katie Harrigan Manchaca and husband Jonathan, Richard Morton, Timothy Harrigan and wife Lauren, Patrick Hunter and wife Taylor, Jeffrey Benbenek and wife Kristin, Matthew Hunter, and Michael Hunter and wife Caroyma;  great-grandchildren, Chase, Brittany, Madeline, Sophia, Lola Kate, Collier, Michael, Kendall, Chelsea, Kendrick, Elizabeth, Christopher, McKenzie, Tatum, Olive, Leona, Kloe, Kyle, Matthew, Bryce, and Michael; great-great-grandchildren, Maddox and Carsyn; and brother, Emmit Taylor and wife Joann of Canton.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Freddy Mason officiating. Interment will follow in City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Chris Powell, Timothy Harrigan, Patrick Hunter, Chase Powell, Jeffrey Benbenek, and Michael Hunter.

Honorary pallbearers are Matt Hunter, Richard Morton, Mark Atkerson, Jonathan Manchaca, and Josh Koenigsfeld.
