Linda Hook, 71, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022. Linda Gayle Mitchell was born on March 20, 1951, in San Augustine, TX to Rushing and Yvonne Mitchell. She graduated from San Augustine High School in 1969 and went on to attend Panola College and ultimately graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University.

She married Scott Hook on August 18, 1973. They built a family together and settled in Carthage in 1991. They eventually purchased a house that they began making into a home with remodeling and gardening projects. Carthage was where they raised their children Jennifer and Justin.

Linda worked in many accounting and administrative roles throughout the years. Her last work home was Pippen Motor Company, where she worked for decades, building a community with her smile and warm personality. Everyone knew and appreciated "Mrs. Linda."

She left Pippen in 2019 to enjoy retirement, where she began to slow down and enjoy her hobbies. Linda loved her family, her dogs, and her plants. She enjoyed entertaining her dogs Daisy and Maggie Mae. There was always a stack of books to read, a yard with many beautiful plants to water, and a number of delicious recipes to be cooked, as well as exciting plans to travel. She loved being at the beach, soaking up the sun, and hearing the waves crash.

Linda is survived by her husband, Scott Hook; her daughter, Jennifer Showers and husband James; her son, Justin Hook; and her brother, Allen Mitchell and wife Betty.
