Linda Wedgeworth Hight, 66, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 28, 2021, in Carthage. Linda Sue Wedgeworth was born on Feb. 3, 1955, in Carthage to the late Walter Aubrey Wedgeworth, Sr. and Ellie Joyce Brooks Wedgeworth. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1973. Linda married Jerry Dale Hight on Aug. 31, 1973, in Carthage. She continued her education at Panola College and later earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at Stephen F. Austin State University. Linda was a talented musician and enjoyed songwriting and teaching. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and granny.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jerry Hight of Carthage; sons, Jeremy Hight and wife Stevie Gail of Larue, Jesse Hight and wife Anabella of San Angelo, and John Hight and wife Ashley of Sarepta, LA; brother, W.A. Wedgeworth, Jr. and wife Robbie of Carthage; sister, Jenice Fitts and husband H.H. "Skip" Fitts of Carthage; grandchildren, Aubrey Jane and Jameson Hight, Jesse and Lorenzo Hight, and Brookelyn, Haley, Jubal, and Jude Hight; mother-in-law, Martha Ann Hight; and uncles, James Wedgeworth and wife Dorothy, Joe Dan Wedgeworth, and Grady Bill Wedgeworth and wife Jane. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Bethlehem Cemetery with Freddy Mason and Matt Comer officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers are Shannon Davis, Shane Cockerham, Trevor Wedgeworth, David Fitts, Matt Fitts, and Cohen Cockerham.
