Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Rhoades Cook, age 61, of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. Mike Fields and Pastor Cameron Strange officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cook passed away on Tuesday night, December 22, 2009, at her home in Carthage.

Linda Carol Rhoades Cook was born on August 7, 1948, in Dalhart, Texas to Marshall Andrew and Minnie Louise Smart Rhoades. She graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, Kansas with the class of 1966. Mrs. Cook married Richard Lynn Cook on June 13, 1981 in Liberal. She loved to fish and spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Cook moved to Carthage in 2003, from Liberal and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Carthage. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son, Troy Lee Strange.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, Rick Cook of Carthage; five sons, Mike Lewis of Warrensburg, MO, Mark Lewis of Hugoton, KS, Matthew Lewis and wife Pamela of Wichita, KS, Cameron Strange and wife Shana of Turnertown, and Justin Cook and wife Amber of Turnertown; one daughter, Jessica Robinson and husband Ryan of Longview; two brothers, Michael Rhoades and wife Carol of San Marcos and Gary Rhoades of Tulsa, OK; and eleven grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Cook.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Lewis, Mark Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Cameron Strange, Justin Cook, and Ryan Robinson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ron Wilson and John Griggs.
