Lillie French, 92, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Monday morning, December 25, 2023, in Longview, Texas. Lillie Mae McDaniel was born on January 18, 1931, in Carthage to the late Major Cleveland and Hannah Jane Keller McDaniel. She worked for 23 years as a CNA at Panola Nursing Home. Lillie enjoyed crocheting, fishing, cooking and going to the boats. She lived her lifetime in Carthage and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Corbin James Nail, David Alan Lawless, and William Edward French; children, Linda Kay Nail, James Edward Nail, and Ella Jane Burgess; 9 siblings; and grandsons, Cody Michael Figley and Bryan Stuart Anderson.

She is survived by her children, Lillie Jean Hunter and husband Roger, Sally Fuselier and husband Gardful, Cindy Figley and husband Barron, and David Earl Lawless; sister, Mary Stacy; grandchildren, James Edwin Nail, Jr., David Corbin Nail, William Russell Nail, Kay Reynolds, Jimmy Dale Burgess, Brandon Lee Burgess, Misty Ann Lee, Melissa Lynn Brown, Dustin Patrick Fuselier, Derrick Glen Fuselier, Brittany Nicole Figley, Gerald Figley, Grace Mary Small, Hannah Rose Lawless, and Emma Anne Lawless; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Arnold Shrewsbury officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are James Edwin Nail, Jr., Jimmy Burgess, William Russell Nail, Bryan Stuart Burgess, James Edward Burgess, and David Corbin Nail.

Honorary pallbearers are Roger Hunter and David Lawless.
