Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Gallman Bagley, age 104, of Monroe, LA were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel in Rayville, LA with Dr. Ernest Winburn officiating. Interment followed in Rayville Masonic Cemetery.
Lillian Gallman Bagley was born on April 13, 1904 in Bay Springs, MS and passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 in Monroe.
Mrs. Bagley was the first woman Supply Officer appointed by the Louisiana State Police, when she lived in Baton Rouge. Earlier in her life, she worked for the Telephone Co. and the Louisiana State Hospital in Shreveport as a laboratory technician assistant. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and worker for 25 years. Lillian was a former member of Ft. Miro Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Bagley had lived in Monroe for many years, moving there in from Panola County, TX where she was a member of the DeBerry Baptist Church and the Mt. Zion U.M.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Herman Bagley.
Local survivors include a niece, Shirley Bagley Keen and husband Bobby and nephew Wayne Bagley and wife Linda all of Carthage. Other family members include nieces and nephews from the Bagley and Gallman families.
