Obituary

Leta Faye Ross, 94, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Leta Faye Hall was born on November 4, 1930, in Gary, Texas to the late Zach and Adelle Laura Bell Hall. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1947, and attended Panola College. Leta Faye married the love of her life, Eston Royce "E.R." Ross on February 24, 1950, in the Del Ray Community of Panola County, Texas, and they celebrated 74 years together. She worked for a couple years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator and then became a homemaker to raise their two boys. Mrs. Ross lived most of her life in Panola County and was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church in the Del Ray Community where she taught Sunday school for many years. Leta loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, B.T. Hall, Quita Hall, Dan Hall, Jerry Hall, and Huey Hall.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 74 years, Eston Royce Ross; sons, Eston Paul Ross and wife Debbie and Tommy Hall Ross and wife Vickie; sister, Mary Ann DuBose; brother-in-law, Dan Ross and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Courtney Daugherty (Skyler), Jason Ross (Tamara), Kristina Yates (Johnny), Kaley Alexander (Kyle), and Jonathon Ross; and great-grandchildren, Kiera Ross, Kinsler Ross, Kora Alexander, Christian Ross, Kypton Alexander, Hudson Daugherty, Kobain Yates, John Abram Ross, Kaylor Yates, Kornell Yates, and Graham Daughtery.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Ebenezer Methodist Church with Bro. Randy Miller officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Johnny Yates, Kristina Ross Yates, Kyle Alexander, Skyler Daugherty, Jason Ross, and Jonathon Ross. Honorary pallbearers are Courtney Ross Daughtry and Kaley Ross Alexander.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Methodist Church or to the Walton Cemetery Association.
