Obituary

A funeral service for Mr. Lester Earl Fannin, 57, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carl Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Fannin passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, near Barrow Island, in Western Australia.

Lester Earl Fannin was born on Nov. 30, 1956, in Carthage, TX, to James Franklin and Ellen Marie Hobbs Fannin. He attended Gary and Beckville schools. Mr. Fannin married Charlotte Cotton on June 3, 1977, in Carthage. He worked as an off-shore maintenance supervisor for Diamond Offshore Drilling since 1976. Mr. Fannin was a member of the NRA and the Beckville Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Fannin was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mr. Fannin is survived by his wife, Charlotte Fannin of Beckville; his father, James Fannin of Carthage; one son, Earl Fannin and wife Casey of Tatum; one daughter, Kimberly Mills and husband Aaron of Carthage; one brother, Luther Fannin and wife Brenda of Carthage; two sisters, Teena Casper and husband Frank of Carthage and Kathy Boggs and husband Paul of Carthage; and two grandchildren, Payge and Payton Fannin.

Serving as pallbearers are Frank Casper, Michael Cotton, Jason Ross, Justin Cotton, James Welch, and Rhett Yount.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are the Diamond Ocean America Crew and Ernie Winslow.
