Lessie V. Adams, 100, of Bedford, TX formerly of Beckville, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, Oct. 13, 2018, in Dallas. Lessie V. Jones Adams was born on Sept. 23, 1918, in Beckville to the late Euell and Dovie Jones. She attended Beckville schools and graduated from Sunset High School. Mrs. Adams married Oren Adams on June 3, 1944, in Carthage and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1998. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crossword puzzles, writing poetry, and calling her loved ones to check on them. Her heart revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her G.G. Mrs. Adams worked as a secretary at the World Trade Center in New York City for many years. She was a longtime member of Bethel C.M.E. Church in Beckville. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Phil Adams; sisters, Arzie Jones and Ola Mae Booty; brother, Burris Jones; and lifelong best friend, Essie Gladney, who she is having fun with again in Heaven.

Left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren, Tiffany, Rahsaan, and Shamecca Adams; great-grandchildren, Courtnie, Danielle, and Jasmine Cooper; daughter-in-law, Diane Adams, who she loved and cherished; niece, Hygirene Redd, who she had a special love for; and niece, Florence Jeffrey, who she shared a special bond with.

A final viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Bethel C.M.E. Church in Beckville. A repast will follow at the A.L. Turner Community Center. Her ashes will be interred at Bethel Cemetery in Beckville.

Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Hicks, Anthony Bradford, Richard Jinks, the late Ira Jinks, Oren Eddie, and Carl Jeffery.
