Leola Anesia Kelley Williams, 60, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday afternoon, August 18, 2022, at her home in Carthage. She was born on July 25, 1962, in Carthage to Leo Jackson and Corine Kelley. Leola graduated with the Carthage High School Class of 1980, and then later attended Wiley College where she earned her bachelor's degree in 2013. Mrs. Williams worked as an investigator for Child Protective Services for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage. Leola was preceded in death by her father, Leo Jackson; sister, Margaret Edwards; and brother, Winfred Ware.
She is survived by her mother, Corine Kelley of Carthage; children, Dr. Quantaus Kelley and wife Shaneithia of Kilgore, Quantrina Williams of Carthage, Dr. Queenie Wilkins and husband Michael of Houston, and Quintina Bryant and husband Kadrian of Palestine; grandchildren, Draylon Floyd, Jhasmyr Kelley, Kenidi Kelley, Kavian Bryant, Kaden Bryant, Kobe Bryant, Coryn Hamilton, Michael Wilkins II, Maya Wilkins, Chamya Thompson, and Zaylon Stoker; brother; Quentin Kelley; and sisters, Demetra Ware, Pam Jackson-Bush, and Rhonda Jackson. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor J.T. Harris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
