Legatha "Lee" Jenkins Demings, 70, of Joaquin, TX, passed away on Friday morning, May 29, 2015, in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born on April 28, 1945, in San Augustine, TX to Clifford and Louisa Ingram Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her father and four siblings, Clifford, Alivn, and Danny Jenkins and Mary Moore.

Mrs. Demings is survived by her mother, Louisa Ingram Jenkins of Tenaha; three sons, Whyman Hightower of California, Preston Demings, III and wife Murlene of Tenaha, and special son and caregiver, Clifford Demings and Yolanda Holman of Joaquin; two daughters, Sharon Jones of San Francisco and Louisa Reddic and husband Edward of Carthage; two brothers, Rochester Jenkins and wife Gladys of Tenaha and Calvin Jenkins, Sr. and wife Dorina of California; three sisters, Rosie Drake and husband Roy of Tenaha, Vivian LeBlanc and husband Wayne of California, and Barbara Sanchez of Tenaha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Demings.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage. Cremation and service arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
