A graveside service for Mrs. LayDell Bissell, 65, of Lake Murvaul, will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 16, 2014, at County Line Cemetery with Bro. Richard Russell officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service. Mrs. Bissell passed away on Thursday morning, June 12, 2014, in Nacogdoches.

LayDell Ballard Bissell was born on Feb. 27, 1949, in Natchitoches, LA to the late David and Geneva Desadier Ballard. She married Jerry David Bissell on May 20, 1989, in Jefferson County, Texas. Mrs. Bissell loved flower gardening. She moved to the area permanently in 2007, from Huffman. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bissell was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, David Ballard, Jr., Jim Dan Ballard, and Larry Lee Ballard.

Mrs. Bissell is survived by her husband, Jerry Bissell of Lake Murvaul; two sons, Herman Deuane Thompson and wife Rebecca of Benton, LA and David Carl Thompson of South Louisiana; two daughters, Stephanie Renee Bissell of Houston and Angela Lynn Legg and husband Brian of Hutto; one brother, Noah Ernest Ballard of Keithville; three sisters, Shirley Desadier Brown of Bossier City, Alice Pearl Ballard Bissell of Clarence, and Kathy Ballard Taylor and husband Butch of Utah; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Tony Baber, Johnny Boykin, Jake Walls, Carlton Russell, Steven Prescott, and Jason Kennemer.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jim Butts and Matt Zuber.
