Larry Ritter, 73, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Carthage. Larry Daniel Ritter was born on April 12, 1949, in Center, Texas, to the late Thomas and Gwendolyn Roberson Ritter. Larry graduated with the Carthage High School class of 1967, and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He worked for Southwestern Bell for many years as a lineman and then as an outside plant engineer.  He worked all over the country buying right-of-way for the first cell phone towers for several years.  He was part owner of the Carthage Country Club for a time, and then he spent the later part of his career working as a land man again for various oil companies.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Dana Legler and husband Clarke; sister, Tommie Jo Smith; and grandchildren, Will Whitmer, Jack Whitmer and spouse Will Dawson, and Kate Whitmer.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at Gary Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Pallbearers are John Ray, Mitchell McMillan, Scott Lee, Pat Browning, Ben Thomas, and R.D. Green.

Honorary pallbearers are Sleepy Reynolds, Harold Rider, and Pat Jones.
