Larry McKnight, 71, of Carthage, Texas passed away June 29, 2022, at his home in Carthage surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Larry Leroy McKnight was born September 1, 1950, in Vivian, Louisiana to the late Murrell and Betty Holland McKnight. Larry was a 1969 graduate of Carthage High School. He married Deanna Bush on November 25, 1972, and together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Mr. McKnight worked for 26 years as a mechanic at the TXU Power Plant, loved hunting, fishing, trapping and many other outdoor activities. He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ and was a devoted family man that enjoyed each moment spent with his family.

Mr. McKnight is survived by his loving wife, Deanna McKnight of Carthage; children, Jeff McKnight and wife Misty of Beckville, Melissa McKnight of Carthage; grandchildren , Kolby Briggs, Macie Brown and husband Matt, Tye McKnight and wife Brandi, Lane McKnight, Logan Briggs, Eastyn McKnight, Zoey McKnight, Destyn Copeland and husband Chris, Britnie Dixon, Jase Dixon, Keri Dixon, Landon Dixon and several great grandchildren; brother, Tommy McKnight and wife Kaylan of Carthage along with numerous other relatives and friends. Larry is also survived by special cousins, Ginger and Bill Evans and Carolyn and Walt Haley and lifelong friends, Nelson and Georgia Monroe.

Funeral services for Mr. McKnight will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Asher officiating. Interment will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Kolby Briggs, Tye McKnight, Lane McKnight, Logan Briggs, Matt Brown and Nelson Monroe.

Honorary pallbearers are Mark Dowden, Danny Lonsberry, Paul Anzadula, Ralph Drummond, Jeff Gilliam, Charles Conway, Dale LaGrone, Ed Tillman, Spencer Anderson and Willie Lewis.
