Larry D. Davis, 76, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday morning, July 19, 2018, in Tyler. Larry Dale Davis was born on April 27, 1942, in McLeod, TX to the late Sidney Serepta "S.S." and Lela Verna Hughes Davis. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1961. Larry married Jerrie Lynette Poss on Dec. 27, 1963. He worked at Western Auto and then Pippen Motor Company for over 36 years, retiring as sales manager. After retirement, Larry enjoyed farming and ranching. He moved to Carthage in 1951, and was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Ted Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Jerrie of Carthage; daughter, Kellie Davis of Carthage; brother, Randy Davis of Tyler; sisters, Betty Lynch of Atlanta, Shirley Denman and husband Harold of Tyler, Linda Mims of Lindale, and Dixie Boothe of Carthage; grandchildren, Brandon Gibson and Brooke and Blake Peterson; and great-grandchild, Tawni Gibson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Bill Peace, Clint Stephenson, Dean Yates, Mark Davis, Kevin Hudson, John Cooke, and Jake Stillwell.
