Laretta Freeman, 76, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2022, in Carthage. Laretta Faye Bunch was born on Jan. 22, 1946, in Coolidge, TX to the late Chester and Hazle Wynell Horn Bunch. She graduated from Coolidge High School with the class of 1964, and attended Navarro Jr. College and Sam Houston State University. Laretta married Bruce Earl Freeman on June 22, 1968, in Coolidge. She worked in the banking industry and retired from Panola National Bank in January of 2011. Laretta moved to Carthage in 1976, from Athens, TX and was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and more recently became a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dwain Bunch; and sister, Louvenia DeLuca.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Bruce Freeman; son, Russell Freeman and wife Heather; daughter, Casey Freeman and husband Danny Owens; and grandchildren, Madison and Morgan.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Coolidge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Coolidge Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 84, Coolidge, TX  76635.
