Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Earl Little, age 60, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Greggton Baptist Church, 4520 West Marshall Avenue, Longview, TX with Pastor Reggie Day and Rev. Bobbie E. Moore officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gladewater Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Greggton Baptist Church. Mr. Little passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, 2012, at his home in Carthage.
Kenneth Earl Little was born on March 5, 1951, in Dallas, TX, to Earl and Virginia Crane Little. He graduated from Mesquite High School with the class of 1969. Ken attended East Texas State University in Commerce where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1973, and a Masters in Education in 1978. Throughout his extensive career, he coached and taught at many school districts across Texas including, Mesquite, Mineral Wells, Hughes Springs, Big Sandy, Gladewater, Beckville, Rains, and Henderson. Ken moved to Carthage in 2008, from Emory and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father; first wife, Beverly Ann Little who passed away in Aug. of 2005; and one brother, Gary Little.
Mr. Little is survived by his mother, Virginia Little of Mesquite; his wife, Michele Little of Carthage; one son, Brad Little and wife Kate of Houston; and one daughter, Alyssa Little of Kingwood. Ken also leaves behind his cherished friendships with his fellow coaching and teaching colleagues as well as his past players and students.
Serving as pallbearers are Sam Chenoweth, Rocky Hawkins, Kevin Kerns, Gordon Gray, Todd Bodden, Terry Giddens, Dickie Meeks, and Richard Strickland.
