A funeral service for Mr. Scott Etheredge, age 50, of Scottsville, TX formerly of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Etheredge passed away on Saturday night, March 9, 2013, in Longview.

Kavin Scott Etheredge was born on Nov. 22, 1962, in Carthage, TX to Bobby Ray Etheredge, Sr. and Loretta Hodges Etheredge. He attended Carthage Schools. Scott married Selinda Kay Anderson on March 3, 1999, in Jamaica. He worked as a foreman in the pipeline industry. Scott loved playing golf, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Longhorns, and he loved his family dearly. He enjoyed his profession in the pipeline industry and was well respected by his co-workers. Scott moved to Scottsville in 2002, from Carthage. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Ray Etheredge, Jr.

Mr. Etheredge is survived by his wife, Selinda Etheredge of Scottsville; his parents, Bobby and Loretta Etheredge of Carthage; one daughter, Shelly Etheredge of Dallas; one son, Kashton Etheredge of Scottsville; one sister, Robin Smith and husband Terry of Carthage; one brother, Jeff Etheredge and wife Amy of Beckville; and two grandchildren, Addison and Bentley Owens. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Etheredge.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mark Harris, Cory Toon, Coy Anderson, Nolan Hodges, J.R. Hodges, Eric Crawford, Mark Crawford, Ronnie Briery, Dillon Etheredge, Dalton Etheredge, Daxton Etheredge, Bentley Owens, C.J. LaGrone, David Hodges, Daniel Hodges, Shannon Twomey, and Tim Harvey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Scott's memory to Toys for Tots, The American Stroke Assn., or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Your memorial donation is greatly appreciated.
