Funeral services for Ms. Kathy Slagle, age 54 years of the Lake Murvaul Community will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Ms. Slagle passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2006 in the Lake Murvaul Community.
Alma Katherine Hendrickson Slagle was born in Okinawa Japan on January 24, 1952 to Jack and Doris Langston Hendrickson. She graduated from Western Hills High School in Irving, Texas in 1970 and went on to attend the University of Texas at Arlington. Kathy was an active member of the Carthage Chapter #737 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, the outdoors, and hand work. Kathy has lived in Panola County for the past twelve years where she worked at the Panola County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff.
Ms. Slagle is survived by her parents, Doris and Jack Hendrickson of the Lake Murvaul Community; one daughter, Melissa Golden and husband Kenneth of Weatherford, Texas; four grandsons, Levi Golden, Garrett Buie, Mikey Golden, and Jack Buie; Kathy is also survived by her family at the Panola County Sheriff's Department and the Panola County Constables office precincts one and four. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Kathy.
Serving as pallbearers are Sheriff Jack Ellett, Captain Byron McMillan, Lieutenant Greg Almeida, Sergeant Jeff Scarborough, Deputy Jeff Ivy, and Constable Kevin Lake. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Major David Jeter, Deputy Adam Jones, and Sergeant Phillip Grimes.
