Kathleen Schultz, 79, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 19, 2019, in Tyler, TX.  Kathleen Meadows was born on Oct. 12, 1939, in Haileyville, Pittsburgh County, OK to the late Vernon and Eva Maye Williams Meadows. She graduated from Hartshorne Oklahoma High School with the class of 1957. Kathleen attended Eastern Oklahoma State College where she earned an Associate's Degree. She married A. Jay Schultz on July 26, 1959 in Hartshorn, Oklahoma. Mrs. Schultz worked as an instructor in the medical technology field for many years at Panola College before her retirement. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Carthage. Mrs. Schultz was an accomplished seamstress. Football was a passion of hers as she loved all levels of play, High School to Professional. Kathleen was an avid reader consuming literature constantly. Kathleen enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. She moved to Carthage in the mid-1990's and was of the Lutheran faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Schultz and a brother, Oscar Meadows.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Schultz; Mark Schultz's wife Gloria, sons David Schultz, and Bill Schultz and wife Deborah; daughter, Bethany Tervalon and husband Harry; brother, Donald Meadows and wife Ruth Ann; sister, Diana Garofoli; eight grandchildren, Tracy Schultz Donow, Kerry Schultz, Kaylyn Schultz Appleyard, Kevin Schultz, Lauren Schultz, Juan Valencia, Stephen Schultz, Emily Schultz; and one great-grandchild, Hudson Donow. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Schultz.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Kathleen's name to the Carthage I.S.D. Athletic Program, #1 Bulldog Dr., Carthage, TX 75633.
