A memorial service for Ms. Katherine Jinks, 65, of Longview, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Love officiating. Ms. Jinks passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 12, 2013, at her home in Longview. Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Katherine Jinks was born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Beckville, TX to the late Odellus and Autrial Hicks Jinks. She attended DuSable High School in Chicago. At age 16, she went to work for Zenith Television Co. She worked at Jefferson Electric and later as a school data entry operator at the University of Chicago. In 1983, she moved back to Texas to take care of her parents at which time she earned her GED and took CNA nursing courses at Panola College. In 1989, she moved back to California where she worked for Neiman Marcus and later for the State of California as a data entry clerk. In 2003, she moved back to Texas from San Bernardino, CA at which time she went to work for Summit Sitter Service as a sitter and later at Experience Works as a clerk in data entry. She was a member of the New Birth Fellowship Church in Kilgore. Katherine was preceded in death by one brother, Flory Jinks and two sisters, Jean Audry McCaney and Audry Jinks.

Katherine is survived by one daughter, Annette Jinks Fite and husband Robert of Beckville; two sisters, Juanita Wilcher of Tacoma, Wash. and Norma Jean Holland and husband Nathaniel of Chicago, Ill; two grandchildren, Jasmine and Justin Fite of Beckville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jinks of Chicago; special cousins, Lindell Hicks of Longview and Ivory Hicks Butler of Dallas; special friends, Pauline Dorsey of Alabama and Pauline Brown of Longview; and her beloved dog, Teador. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Ms. Jinks.
