Karen Bartley, 53, of Tatum, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2018, in Longview. Karen Lynn Coburn Bartley was born on Feb. 1, 1964, in Shreveport, LA to Fred Coburn and Brenda Adams. She graduated from Logansport High School with the class of 1982. Karen married D.J. Bartley on March 8, 1996, in Henderson. She was an excellent seamstress and loved cooking and canning. Karen loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a big supporter of the Tatum Public Library and was a founding member of the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum. Karen was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her loving husband, D.J. Bartley of Tatum; son, Michael Bartley of Tatum; mother, Brenda Adams of Grand Cane; sister, Samantha Garrett and husband Cliff of Logansport; nephews, Jack and Sam Garrett; step-son, Derek Bartley and wife Phaedra of Tatum; grandchildren, Lagan and Bryston Bartley; and uncle, Ronald Coburn and wife Sandy of Keithville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum with Pastor Jason Taylor and Marlon Myers officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the memorial service.
