Funeral services for Kalie Danielle Templeton, age 16 of Longview, Texas formerly of Carthage will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Kalie passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2006 in Lakeport, Texas.
Kalie touched everyone's life on January 25, 1990 when she came into the world at Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson Texas. She was born to Anthony Jay and Tammy Lynette Davis Templeton. She was born again unto the Lord at the age of eight and was baptized at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church were she became a member. She was a beautiful and vibrant child that loved to laugh, joke, and make others smile. Kalie enjoyed sports immensely. She played t-ball and softball for the Panola County Softball Association, and later played volleyball and basketball for Carthage schools. She transferred to Hallsville High School in January of her sophomore year, where she was currently a part of the Varsity Golf Team. At both schools she was an active member in the drama class and inspired to become an interior designer, actor, or singer. Kalie had a beautiful voice. She also enjoyed her part-time job as a hostess at the Outback Steakhouse in Longview. She loved life, family, friends, strangers, and her beloved pets. She will be missed by all as she continues to touch our lives with her memory. Kalie will especially be missed by "Gizmo", her little dog who faithfully slept at her feet every night. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Victoria Bagley; grandfather, Sidney Ted Davis; great-grandparents, James Maxwell and Visa Edna Armstrong and Sidney and Lela Davis.
Kalie is survived by her father, Anthony Templeton and wife Tamara of Carthage; mother, Tammy Short and husband Brian of Longview; three siblings, Laci Templeton of College Station, Micah Templeton of Carthage, and McKenzie Templeton of Carthage; grandparents, Cliff and Sandy Templeton of Carthage and Charlie and Judy Johnstone of Houston; aunts, Tina Cope and husband Jack of Huntsville; two uncles, Stacy Templeton and wife Jenna of Houston and Clay Templeton of Katy; numerous other great-aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Also surviving are her special friends, Taryn, Jessica, Geoff "Buh", Dakota, Kristin, and the love of her life, Matt Edwards.
Serving as pallbearers will be her "Hallsville Gang." They are Geoff "Buh" Cormier, Dakota Davlin, DJ Smelley, Tim Brazier, Zach Burditt, and Anthony Green. Honorary pallbearer is Matt Edwards.
