Joyce Reider, age 93, of Gary, Texas, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2025, at her home near Gary. Joyce LaVerne Collins was born on July 28, 1931, in Gary to the late John Vernon and Pearl Springer Collins. She graduated from Gary High School as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1949, and later graduated from Panola College. Joyce attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall before earning her Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. She married Bobby Ray Reider on September 8, 1952, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Joyce worked as a teacher at Gary and Mt. Enterprise I.S.D's before her retirement. She loved gardening and flowers. Joyce lived her lifetime in the Gary Community and was of the Assembly of God faith.

She is survived by her husband of 72+ years, Bobby Reider; children, LaWanda Reider, David Reider, and Curtis Reider; granddaughters, Chelsea, Allison, Rendi, and Gabriella Reider; great-granddaughters, Heather and Lindsey Humkey; and a special cousin, Bobby Joe Ritter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Allen McGraw officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Ronny Porter, Russell Porter, Tim Tate, Robby Gunn, Dotria Collins, and Michael Collins.

Honorary pallbearer is Bobby Ritter.
