Joyce Ransom, age 83, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Monday night, December 16, 2024, in Longview, Texas. Joyce Fay Berry was born on December 4, 1941, in Olla, Louisiana to the late Crawsen Linus "C.L." and Irma Poole Berry. She graduated from high school in Jena, Louisiana with the class of 1959. Joyce worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 2002. She moved to Carthage in 1974, from Houston and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Norris and Glenda Ordoyne.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie Richard, Jeff Ransom and wife Teresa, and Greg Ransom and wife Leigh; brothers, Jimmy Berry and wife Lola and David Berry; special family to Momma Joyce, Darla Townsend and Jennifer Malone and their families; grandchildren, Robert Richard (Rachel), Colby Cranford (Justin), Hannah Brown (DeRontay), Braxton Richard (Stormi), Tanner Ransom (Kaylee), Ty Ransom, Halle Ransom, and Tate Ransom; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Roman, Rhett, Saylor, Wrenlee, Rhys, Wylie, Walker and one on the way.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Robert Richard, Braxton Richard, Tanner Ransom, Ty Ransom, Tate Ransom, Justin Cranford, and Randall Cuff.

Honorary pallbearer is Lonnie Townsend.
