Joyce Ann Allums, 80, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday morning, April 14, 2019, in Carthage. Joyce Ann Cammack was born on Oct. 3, 1938, in Timpson, TX to the late Robert L. and Elsie Irene Ramsey Cammack. She graduated from Pasadena, TX High School with the class of 1957, and earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Joyce Ann married Bruce Hariel Allums on Sept. 3, 1960, in Carthage and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2014. Mrs. Allums began her career in education as a teacher at Baker-Koonce Intermediate. She later took a position as Special Education Director for the Panola County Coop, a position she held for over 20 years until her retirement. Mrs. Allums lived her lifetime in the Carthage area and was a long-time member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Sue Woods.

Survivors include her son, Bruce Eric Allums and wife Tricia of Nacogdoches; her daughter, Janna Irene Richardson and husband Delta of Carthage; brothers, Charles L. Cammack and wife Jane of Beckville and George M. Cammack and wife Loretta of Nacogdoches; and 5 grandchildren, Jessica, Bruce Garrett, Parker, Ashton, and Savannah Allums. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Charles and George Cammack officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Delta Richardson, Bruce Garrett Allums, Parker Allums, Ashton Allums, Tristin Smith and Chris Cammack.
