Obituary

Josey Peters Pepper Trust, 80, of Shreveport, passed away July 25, 2010 after a brief illness at her residence in Carthage, Texas. Josey Peters Pepper Trust was born in Baton Rouge, LA on Dec. 12, 1929, to Col. Charles Wise Peters and wife, Floy Granberry Peters.

After graduating from high school in Arlington, VA, she moved back to Baton Rouge, and then to Japan during the reconstruction of Japan after WWII. She returned and married John L. Pepper, Jr. in May of 1950, and they made their home in the Broadmoor area of Shreveport in 1952.
After living in Shreveport for about 35 years, she and her husband John moved to a lake home on Toledo Bend until his death in 1998. She then married Eugene H. Trust and moved back to Shreveport. After his death in Aug. 2004, she moved to the Waterford and then to The Glen Retirement facility, and later to Carthage, Texas.

Josey "Jo" Pepper Trust was a loving wife and mother and dedicated to praying for and supporting her family and the needs of others. Her faith changed lives. She loved to cook and study the Bible and was an accomplished artist. In recent years, she attended the Word of Faith Church in the Logansport area, and Life Tabernacle in Shreveport when her health allowed, and enjoyed a ladies Bible fellowship at the Glen.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27th from 5-7 pm at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue and funeral services will be Wednesday July 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene McBride officiating. Interment will follow at the Pepper family plot in Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue.

Survivors include three children, John L. Pepper, III and wife, Betsy of Carthage, Texas; Jim Pepper of Tyler, Texas; Polly Pepper McCurry and husband, Tommy of Colleyville, Texas and one step-son, Byron Trust and wife, Bobbie of Shreveport; and grandchildren, Michelle Allgaier and husband, Brian of Temple, Texas, Jennifer Anderson and husband, Drew of Flower Mound, Texas, John McCurry and wife, Meredith, Jordan McCurry and wife, Allyson, Caroline McCurry all of Colleyville, Texas and Robert Pepper of Tyler, Texas; and great granddaughter, Ruth Lauren Anderson of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Peters McGuire of Shreveport, LA; a sister-in-law, Polly Pepper Blanche of Baton Rouge, LA; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John McCurry, Jordan McCurry, Robert Pepper, Brian Allgaier, Drew Anderson, Stith Bynum and Bill Bynum.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
