Funeral services for Mr. Joey Brown, age 47, of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kim Hagedorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Brown passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009, in Carthage.

Joseph Earl Brown was born on December 29, 1961, in Houston, Texas to Earl Earnest and Lillian Lee Jones Brown. He graduated from North Caddo High School in Vivian, Louisiana with the class of 1980. While in Vivian, he was a member of the DeMolay. Mr. Brown graduated from Northwestern University in Natchitoches in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a great golfer and was a member of the PGA for a brief period of time. Mr. Brown moved to Carthage in 2005, from Vivian. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

Mr. Brown in survived by his mother, Lillian Brown of Carthage; one son, Lance Brown of Vivian; and one sister, Sherril Brown of North Richland Hills. Numerous other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Brown.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Nelson Monroe, Denny Mack Jernigan, Larry Fields, Steve Dinnerville, Kenny Wynn, and Kevin Willis.
