A Mass of Christian Burial for S/Sgt Jose E. Granado, age 38, of Tatum, TX, will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church, 4088 NW Loop, Carthage, Texas with Father Jesusdoss Thomas officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 8 p.m. S/Sgt Granado passed away on Monday morning, July 22, 2013.
Jose Eustacio Granado-Carbajal was born on July 25, 1974, in Acuna Cohulia, Mexico to Alejandro Granado, Jr. and Rosalinda Carbajal Granado. Jose served his country in the U.S. Marines for 20 years and was still active duty. He was the owner, concealed handgun instructor, and range master at Assurance Firearms Training and Certifications. Jose lived most of his life in Tatum and was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alejandro "Alex" Granado.
S/Sgt Granado is survived by his parents, Alejandro Granado, Jr. and Rosalinda Granado of Tatum; one son, Anthony Granado of Australia; one brother, Rolando Granado of Longview; and three sisters, Dionicia Cruz and husband Gregorio, Cynthia Granado, and Susana Granado, all of Tatum. Numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Jose.
