Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Ray Bell, age 76, of Long Branch, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Leon Veazey officiating. Interment will follow in Murvaul Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bell passed away on Sunday night, Feb. 7, 2010, in Longview.

Johnny Ray Bell was born on Oct. 13, 1933, in Tomball, TX to John and Verna Evelyn Carter Bell. He graduated from Idabel, OK High School with the class of 1951. He married Frances Ann Guyon on Feb. 23, 1959, in Pasadena, TX. Mr. Bell owned and operated Pasadena Automotive until his retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Assn. Mr. Bell loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and restoring automobiles. He moved to Long Branch in 1985, from Pasadena, and was a member of the Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church in Gary where he served as the music director and a Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Darrell Bell; and one daughter, Janet Bell Dyess.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Frances Bell of Long Branch; one son, Donald Bell of Pasadena; four daughters, Dayna Bell of Gonzales, LA, Denise Bell Lofton of Pasadena, Leslie Bell Finch and husband Fred of Richardson, TX and Jenny Johnson and husband Ricky of Carthage; one brother, Steve Bell and wife Kim of Broken Bow, OK; four sisters, Doris Hawkins and husband Cletus of Broken Bow, Ruth Orr and husband Bob of Rodgers, AR, Elaine Foster and husband Gaylon of Broken Bow, and Lois Johnson and husband Jimmy of Weatherford, TX; and mother-in-law, Dale Guyon of Pasadena. Numerous grandchildren also survive Mr. Bell.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Dyess, Jarod Dyess, Jacob Finch, Travis Nutt, Randal Harkey, Jr. Woodfin and Marcus Phillips.
