John Phillip Sullivan, 74, of Carthage, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at his home in Carthage. John was born on April 27, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Adam and Lottie Lenore Hassell Sullivan. He graduated from Killeen High School and later attended Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Sullivan served his country through the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. John worked for many years as a technician for Texas Instruments and Solectron. He was a member of the St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Carthage and loved fishing and kayaking. John was a devoted son and took care of his mother in her later years prior to her death. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Billie Smith, Eileen Kerr and Kathleen Myers.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his children, Leslie Sullivan and husband Balaji Vijayan of Lewisville and Robert Sullivan and wife Dawn of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Mason Sullivan and Autumn Sullivan; and the mother of his children, Sherry Sullivan. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive Mr. Sullivan.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Jackson officiating. A burial of cremains will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made to the church or the charity of choice.
