John Henry Ruso, Jr., 64, of Carthage, passed away on Wednesday morning Sept. 2, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 20, 1951, in Carthage to the late Henry and Norina Zoda Perry Ruso and grew up in the Grand Bluff Community. John married Margaret Ann Collins on Aug. 25, 1972. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved to cook, was an expert griller, and tinkered on anything with a motor. He loved camping, hanging out with family and friends, all the while entertaining everyone that he came in contact with. After high school in Beckville, John moved to Louisiana where he began his career in the oil field. In 2006, he moved to Carthage where he retired in November of 2014. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Ruso is survived by his wife, Margaret Ruso of Carthage, son, Dustin Ruso and wife Gena of Carthage; daughter, Anissa Ruso Pride and husband Bryan of Carthage; sisters, Sharon Baron of Schenectady, NY, Patricia Thomlinson and husband Denny of Katy, and Marilyn Lupe and husband John of Kingwood; grandsons, Rope and Rider Pride and Jaxon Ruso; granddaughters, Aly and Haileigh Ruso and Savannah Pride; and sisters-in-law, Myrita Kruebbe and husband Jimmy, Kim Davis and husband Daniel, and Vicki Collins all of Carthage. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Ruso.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steven Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Adams Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Bo Williams, Darren "Julio" Adams, Casey Paine, Chasen Swan, Jamie Boyette, Jason Watkins, Matt Head, and Chad Cox.
Honorary pallbearers are Ken Walker, Ronnie Harris, Jerry Coleman, and Ron Roquemore.
