Obituary
Mr. John Earl Rodgers, age 77, of Beckville, TX passed away Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2013, in Longview. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
John Earl Rodgers was born on March 29, 1936, in the Darco Community of Harrison County, TX to the late Marcus and Minnie Carter Rodgers. He worked in the oil field industry for many years and loved hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Minnie Rodgers; one son, Derek Rodgers of Carthage; two daughters, Della Sowell of Carthage and Dawn Sutlive and husband Gary of Henderson; one brother, James Rodgers of Oklahoma; one sister Mary McCann of Dallas; one special sister-in-law, Anita Livingston of Marshall; four grandchildren, John Sowell, Holly Jo Alexander, Cary Peterson, and Heath Sutlive; and ten great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive Mr. Rodgers.
