John Ireland Banister, 59, of the Shady Grove Community, passed away on May 3, 2016 at his home. He was born on Jan. 5, 1957, in San Diego, CA, to J.T. and Norma Williams Banister. John served in the National Guard. He worked for Anadarko. John enjoyed working and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.I. and Elizabeth Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Banister; his mother, Norma Williams; his son, Jonathan Banister and fiancé Natalie McClure; his daughter, Nikki Warner and husband Shane; brother, James Banister; sisters, Frances Caillouet and husband Mark, and Anita Thacker and husband Olan; and four grandchildren, Darby Banister, Landon Warner, Lucas Warner, and Caten O'Bryan. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends also survive Mr. Banister.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wed., May 4, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Shady Grove Cemetery with Bro. Gary Poarch officiating.
