Joe Pettit, 72, formerly of Carthage, passed away on Thursday morning, March 29, 2018, in Pensacola, FL. Joeie Hugh "Joe" Pettit, Sr. was born on June 22, 1945, in Carthage to the late Raymond Hugh Pettit, Sr. and Beatrice McBride Pettit. Mr. Pettit worked for many years at Zimmerman Sign Co. in Longview. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Pettit, Raymond Pettit, Jr., Johnny Pettit, and Jerry Pettit.

Survivors include wife, Rose Elizabeth Pettit; sons, Bobby Pettit and wife Valerie, Joeie Pettit, and Kenny Turlington and wife Amy; daughter, Dawn Pettit; brother, Tommy Pettit; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Dr. Dale Reed officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
