Joe Alvin "Bud" Hudson, 66, of Gary, TX, passed away on Monday evening, May 6, 2019, at his home near Gary. He was born on March 15, 1953, in Center, TX to the late Joe Calvin Hudson and Donnis and Exa Doris Godwin Eason. Mr. Hudson married Christine Martin on Oct. 1, 1974, in Carthage, TX. He worked for many years as a truck driver until his retirement. Mr. Hudson moved to Panola County in 1996, from Rusk County and was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Coy McKinney and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Hudson of Gary; children, Joe Buddy Hudson of Gary, Christy Nail and husband Russell of Carthage, and Joe Coy Hudson of Gary; daughter-in-law, Amy Martin of Carthage; grandchildren, Cody and Clay Dotson, Dustin Hudson, Zachary Nail, Tiffany Nail Williams and husband Randall, and Thomas Shane Nail; great-grandchild, Raylan Lee Williams; and special cousin, Mara Lou Shires. Numerous other relatives and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Bequette officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Larry Dean Donald, Jr., Scotty Martin, Buddy Martin, Jason Hunt, Ben Shires, Jeremy Rhodes, and Taylor Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Hunt, Roger Hunter, Ruben Martin, Dave Hunt, Melvin Shires, James Shires, and Zachary Nail.
