Jo Ann Pool, 88, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday evening, February 15, 2024, in Carthage. Jo Ann Shoffner was born on August 6, 1935, in Bogata, Texas, to the late Joseph Horace and Florence Elizabeth Keith Shoffner. She attended school in Bogata. JoAnn moved to California and worked at an egg factory there before moving to Carthage in 1993. She was a member of Northside Christian Center in Carthage. Jo Ann enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting and playing Skip-Bo and 42. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leon Shoffner, Bro. Billy Shoffner, and J.D. Shoffner; daughter-in-law, Louise Pool; and son, Randy Pool.

Jo Ann is survived by special niece, Becky Eubank and husband Clayton; and sister-in-law, Betty Shoffner of Carthage. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Aaron Bequette and Bro. Brandon Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
