Jimmy Neel Harlin, 55, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away on Friday morning, June 30, 2017, in Edina, MN. He was born on Oct. 10, 1961, in Shreveport, LA to Ray Allen and Pamela Christine Roberts Hough. Jimmy graduated from Peabody Magnet High School in Alexandria, LA with the class of 1980. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1980-1992 and later in the Reserves from 2001-2012. Jimmy married Kim Will on July 25, 1998, in Opelika, AL. He worked as a Control Systems Engineer for GEA in Hudson, WI. Jimmy moved to Eden Prairie in 2013 from Opelika and was a member of Cross of Glory Baptist Church in Hopkins, MN. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Harland Harlin; mother, Pamela Matt; and brother, Ray Hough, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Kim of Eden Prairie; father, Ray Allen Hough and wife Cathy of Shreveport; children, Sarah Gail Harlin of Eden Prairie, David Allen Harlin and wife Kristina of CA, Brandon Scott Harlin of SC, Kiera Marie Harlin Dodd and husband Roy of SC, and Alexander Bryce Murray of Bowling Green, KY; siblings, Christie O'Leary and husband Kevin of FL, Rod Hough of WI, and David Scott Harlin of TN; and 3 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Harris Chapel Community of Panola County, TX with Rev. Roy Crowe officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Harris Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Greg Metcalf, Ronnie Harris, Patrick Harris, Harper Will, Terry Will, Roy Dodd, Brandon Harlin, and Alexander Murray.
