Jimmy Crawford, 74, of Beckville, Texas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. James Whit "Jimmy" Crawford was born on November 16, 1947, in Henderson, Texas to the late James Polk and Elizabeth Yandle Crawford. He attended Beckville schools, and graduated with the Beckville High School Class of 1966. He attended Panola College, the University of Houston, and SFA University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. He married Linda Joy Stracener on May 31, 1983, in Marshall, Texas. Jimmy attended Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum, Texas. He worked at LeTourneau as an accountant and later as warehouse manager, retiring November 16, 2012, after 40 plus years. Jimmy enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Billy Shanon McKissack.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda Crawford; step-daughter, Lida Vega and husband Eddie; brother, John R. Crawford and wife Cheryl; nephews, Jamie Crawford and wife Estela and their children Bryson, Kade, Riley, and Kyla, Jason Crawford and wife Amanda and their children Mariano, Vanessa, Trenton, and Trevor, and Jerod Crawford and wife Kristen and their children Landry, Lynnlee, and Lawson; grandchildren, Sabrina Baltazar and husband Diego, Sterling McKissack and wife Michaela, and Samantha McKissack; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Colby, Bradyn, Emma, Isaac, Charlotte, Joshua, and one on the way; and great-great grandchild, Kingston.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shawn Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Youngblood Cemetery in Beckville. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jamie Crawford, Jason Crawford, Jerod Crawford, Garrett LaGrone, Sterling McKissack, and Randy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Acker and Eley Buchanan.
