Mr. Jimmy Barton Brooks, age 57 years of Beckville, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006 in Carthage. Mr. Brooks donated his body to science. Arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Jimmy Barton Brooks was born on January 30, 1949 in Henderson. He was the son of John Belton and Melba Barton Brooks. Mr. Brooks worked as a plumber and had lived in Beckville for the past 10 years coming from Henderson. Mr. Brooks served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was honorable discharged. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Brooks is survived by two daughters, Leanna Goodman of Whitehouse and Tanya Kay Brooks of Longview; two sisters, Jonell Harris of Beckville and Ann Harris of Beckville; and six grandchildren.
