A funeral service for Mrs. Jimmie F. Foster Bowlin, 73, of Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Calvin Hancock and Bro. Scott Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bowlin passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30, 2014, in Carthage.
Jimmie F. Foster Bowlin was born on Apr. 5, 1941, in Joaquin, to the late William Emmitt "W.E." Foster and Essie Lee Lilly Foster. She graduated from Joaquin High School with the class of 1959. Mrs. Bowlin worked at the First State Bank in Carthage for over 37 years. She was a poet, artist, seamstress, loved music, and was the best cook in the world. She enjoyed doing things for others and especially sending cards to people during times of loss, sickness, and celebration. She was a long-time member of the Timpson Missionary Baptist Church. She moved to Carthage from Timpson in 1971, and more recently joined the Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Bobbie Foster and a dear friend, Wanda Stewart Davidson.
Mrs. Bowlin is survived by three children, Sherry Cockerham and husband Mike of Carthage, Todd Casterline and wife Mindy of Beckville, and Dawn Ritter and husband Emmit of Carthage; four siblings, William Ray Foster and wife Bell of Old Center, Guy Willard Foster of Timpson, Anita Singleton and husband Herb of Conroe, and Joy Meaux and husband Jerry of Carthage; nine grandchildren, Meagan Baldobino and husband Chris, Dustin Cockerham and wife Shelly, Shane Cockerham and wife Alysha, Candace Miller and husband Derek, Morgan Casterline, Kayla Casterline, Jameson Ritter and wife Brin, Amber Mangrum and husband Michael, and Brooke Morrow; and 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Bowlin.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Judy Stallone and the staff of Marian Place, Bethany Home Health, and Heart's Way Hospice for the loving care shown to their loved one.
Serving as pallbearers are Dustin Cockerham, Shane Cockerham, Jameson Ritter, Chris Baldobino, Mike Meaux, Kevin Foster, and Rodney Foster.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Charlie Foster and Ronald Dewayne Foster.
